Our Journey Together
Our Love Story
From a chance meeting to building a life together — here's how a Punjabi boy from Brampton and a Vietnamese girl from Toronto wrote their own love story.

How We Met
We met volunteering as pharmacy assistants at Mount Sinai Hospital in downtown Toronto. Amir, a Punjabi-Canadian from Montreal (living in Brampton), and Samantha, a Vietnamese-Canadian from Toronto, were both pharmacy students at the University of Toronto. We became friends instantly — same sense of humour, same drive, same wavelength.

Reconnected
After a year and a half of being friends, Amir slid into Sam's DMs. We met up at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at U of T and talked for hours. Something had shifted — this wasn't just friendship anymore. That evening changed everything.

Our First Date
Mini-golf at Putting Edge in Vaughan. Neon lights, terrible scores, and non-stop laughter. It was casual, fun, and exactly how a first date should be. We both knew by the end of the night that this was going somewhere special.

Officially Together
Two weeks after our first date, we made it official over coffee at the Starbucks in Trinity Commons, Brampton. No big moment — just two people who didn't want to pretend anymore. From that day on, we were a team.

Khela Meets World
In the middle of a global pandemic, we launched our YouTube channel. What started as a creative outlet became a way to share our interracial relationship, cultural traditions, and everyday life with the world. Our first video was nerve-wracking — now it's our favourite thing to do together.

The Proposal
Amir proposed to Samantha on May 22, 2020. It was intimate, personal, and everything they'd both dreamed of. After three years of building a life together — through pharmacy school, late-night study sessions, and countless adventures — it was time. She said yes.

Our Wedding
Three ceremonies. Two cultures. One unforgettable celebration of love. We started with the Maiyan (a Punjabi pre-wedding ceremony), followed by the Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding) at the Gurdwara, and finished with a Church ceremony honouring Sam's Vietnamese Catholic traditions. Each ceremony was unique, emotional, and surrounded by family from both sides.

Honeymoon in Paris
We spent our honeymoon in the City of Love. From the Eiffel Tower at sunset to hidden bistros in Le Marais, Paris was everything we imagined and more. We ate our weight in croissants and have zero regrets.

Growing Our Family
Our daughter Amelia arrived and changed everything. New chapter, new adventures. As our family grows, so does our content and our perspective on life. We're excited to share this next phase of our journey — the joys, the challenges, and everything in between.
Watch Our Story Unfold
We document our journey on YouTube. From travel vlogs to cultural discussions, wedding highlights to cooking adventures — it's all there.
“We didn’t fall in love — we grew into it. Every day, a little more.”
— Amir & Samantha
