We're so excited to finally share the trailer for our Anand Karaj ceremony with all of you! August 27th, 2021 feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago all at once. Watching this beautiful footage brings back all the emotions from that incredible day.

For those unfamiliar, the Anand Karaj is the traditional Sikh wedding ceremony, and it was such a meaningful part of our celebration. As an interracial couple, we knew from the beginning that we wanted to honor both of our cultures throughout our wedding festivities. The Anand Karaj allowed us to embrace Amir's Punjabi heritage in the most sacred way possible.

Samantha's perspective: Walking into the gurdwara that morning, I felt this overwhelming sense of peace and belonging. Learning about the four lavaan (wedding hymns) and their beautiful meanings had been such an important part of our journey together. Seeing our families come together, watching Amir's grandmother's tears of joy, and feeling the community's warmth - it was everything we'd dreamed of.

Amir's perspective: Having Samantha participate so wholeheartedly in our traditions meant the world to me and my family. Her respect and genuine love for our culture made this ceremony even more special than I could have imagined.

Our videographer captured the essence of the day so beautifully - from the morning preparations to the emotional moments during the ceremony itself. We hope this trailer gives you a glimpse into the magic we felt.

What traditions from your own heritage mean the most to you? We'd love to hear your stories!
