EuroTrip Day 8 - Venice | St. Mark's Square | Rialto Bridge | Khela Meets Italy

Waking up in Venice felt like stepping into a living postcard! After seven incredible days across Europe, we finally made it to the floating city, and honestly, nothing could have prepared us for the magic of this place.

Our first stop was St. Mark's Square, and wow – the Byzantine architecture of St. Mark's Basilica left us speechless. As we stood there taking it all in, we couldn't help but think about how travel opens your eyes to different cultures and histories. Coming from Toronto's multicultural backdrop, we're always amazed by how these ancient European cities tell such different stories than what we grew up with.

The Rialto Bridge was our afternoon highlight. Fighting through the crowds (tourist tip: go early morning if you can!), we finally got that perfect shot overlooking the Grand Canal. Sam kept joking that the bridge vendors reminded her of the markets in Little Saigon back home – that same bustling energy and friendly chaos.

We spent the evening getting completely lost in Venice's winding streets, which honestly turned out to be the best part of our day. No GPS, no plan, just us wandering hand-in-hand through narrow alleys and stumbling upon hidden gems. We found this tiny family-run restaurant where the nonna insisted on teaching us how to properly twirl our pasta – language barriers mean nothing when food is involved!

Venice has this incredible way of making you slow down and just be present.
