Switzerland Montage | Swiss Trip Recap

We just returned from the most magical week in Switzerland, and honestly, we're still pinching ourselves! From the moment we stepped off the train in Zurich, we knew this trip would be something special.

The highlights that took our breath away:

• Jungfraujoch - Standing on the "Top of Europe" surrounded by glaciers felt surreal. Sam kept joking that the mountains made her feel tiny, while Amir was busy trying to capture every angle with his camera.

• Lake Geneva - We spent an entire afternoon just walking along the promenade in Montreux, sharing fondue and watching the Alps reflect in the crystal-clear water. It reminded us both of how different our childhood landscapes were - Sam's coastal Vietnam and Amir's prairie Canada - yet here we were, completely mesmerized by Swiss beauty.

• The train rides - Switzerland's rail system is chef's kiss. Every journey felt like a moving postcard, especially the route from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen through those dramatic valley views.

The Swiss efficiency definitely impressed our very Canadian sensibilities, though we had to laugh at how the prices made Toronto seem affordable! We also loved seeing the cultural diversity in cities like Geneva - it felt familiar as a multicultural couple who's used to navigating different spaces together.

Our biggest surprise? How incredibly welcoming everyone was, despite our terrible attempts at German and French. Food, scenery, people - Switzerland delivered on every level.
