We can't believe we made it to the Roof of Indochina! Day 10 in Sapa has been absolutely incredible, and we're still catching our breath from conquering Fansipan at 3,147 meters above sea level.

The cable car ride up was breathtaking – literally and figuratively. As we ascended through the clouds, Samantha kept pointing out how the misty mountains reminded her of the Vietnamese landscape paintings her grandmother had back in Toronto. Meanwhile, Amir was busy taking what felt like a thousand photos, trying to capture the ethereal beauty of the terraced rice fields disappearing into the fog below.

The summit was cold – we definitely underestimated how chilly it would be up there! But standing at the peak, surrounded by prayer flags fluttering in the wind, we felt this incredible sense of accomplishment. There's something magical about being on top of the world together, especially when you're so far from home.

After our mountain adventure, we explored Cat Cat Village, where we learned about traditional Hmong culture and watched artisans weaving beautiful textiles. The village elder we met was fascinated by our story – a Punjabi-Canadian and Vietnamese-Canadian couple traveling through Vietnam together. She said love knows no borders, and honestly, that hit us right in the feels.

The contrast between the modern cable cars and ancient village traditions really struck us. It's amazing how Sapa preserves its heritage while embracing tourism.

Have you ever had a travel moment that made you feel on top of the world? We'd love to hear about your mountain adventures!
