Day 19 -Asia Trip Comes To An End | Saigon Adventures | Reunification Palace | The Jewel Singapore

We can hardly believe our 19-day Asian adventure is coming to an end! Our final stop in Saigon has been absolutely incredible, and what better way to wrap up this journey than exploring the city that holds such deep meaning for Sam's Vietnamese heritage.

Walking through the Reunification Palace together was honestly overwhelming in the best way possible. Sam's grandmother used to tell stories about this place, and seeing it through her eyes while Amir learned about the history alongside her made the experience so much richer. There's something magical about traveling as an interracial couple through Asia – we get to see these destinations through completely different cultural lenses, which makes every moment more meaningful.

The palace itself is a fascinating time capsule. Those vintage 1960s meeting rooms and the famous basement with its maps and communication equipment gave us chills. We spent hours just absorbing the weight of history in those halls.

But let's talk about our layover at Singapore's Changi Airport – calling it "The Jewel" isn't even an exaggeration! That indoor waterfall had us both speechless (and yes, we definitely took way too many photos). It's the perfect transition space between the bustling energy of Vietnam and heading back home to Toronto.

As we sit here reflecting on nearly three weeks of temples, street food, new friendships, and countless "pinch me" moments, we're feeling so grateful for this incredible journey across Asia.
