We woke up early on day three absolutely buzzing to explore more of Singapore's incredible diversity. After grabbing some kopi and kaya toast (seriously becoming our morning ritual), we headed straight to the iconic Marina Bay Sands.

Standing beneath those three towers connected by that incredible infinity pool, we couldn't help but feel amazed by Singapore's architectural ambition. The view from the observation deck was breathtaking - the entire city sprawled out before us like a perfectly planned dream. Amir kept joking that Toronto's CN Tower had some serious competition, while I was busy taking about a hundred photos of the Gardens by the Bay.

But honestly, the real magic happened when we ventured into Chinatown later that afternoon. Walking through those bustling streets felt like stepping into both of our family histories simultaneously. The mix of traditional shophouses, temples, and modern cafes reminded us so much of why we love multicultural spaces - there's something beautiful about watching different cultures coexist and blend together.

We spent hours wandering through the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, sampling street food (those xiaolongbao were incredible), and hunting for souvenirs. The elderly aunties selling fresh produce reminded Amir of his nani, while the herbal medicine shops took me straight back to childhood trips with my bà ngoại in Toronto's Chinatown.

Singapore keeps surprising us with how seamlessly it weaves together tradition and innovation, East and West.

What's your favorite Chinatown memory from your travels? We'd love to hear about it!
