#SHORTS - Working from the Office vs Working From Home

We've been having this debate constantly since we both went back to hybrid work schedules last year. Office vs. home - and honestly, we're still team divided over here!

Amir is absolutely an office person. He thrives on the energy, the casual conversations by the coffee machine, and somehow gets way more done when he's surrounded by colleagues. Plus, let's be real - our Toronto condo isn't exactly spacious enough for two people to take back-to-back Zoom calls without some serious coordination.

Sam, on the other hand, is ride-or-die for WFH life. No commute on the TTC, better coffee (sorry, office coffee), and the flexibility to throw in a load of laundry between meetings. She's also way more productive without office distractions and loves being able to prep fresh Vietnamese spring rolls for lunch instead of grabbing whatever's available downtown.

The interesting thing we've noticed is how our different cultural backgrounds shape our work preferences. Amir grew up in a big Punjabi household where collaboration and being around people was the norm, while Sam's family valued focused, independent work time. It's fascinating how these patterns show up even in our work styles!

Our compromise? We've both negotiated for 2-3 days in office, 2-3 days at home. It gives us the best of both worlds, plus we can actually plan our travel adventures around those flexible WFH days.

What's your work setup preference? Are you team office or team home?
