We can't believe we're already on day 14 of our Swiss adventure! Today we decided to slow things down and simply wander through Zurich's charming Old Town (Altstadt). After two weeks of mountain hikes and train hopping, it felt incredible to just meander through cobblestone streets without any agenda.

The medieval architecture here is absolutely stunning. We spent hours getting lost among the narrow alleyways, discovering hidden courtyards and stumbling upon the most adorable little cafés. Samantha was in photographer heaven capturing all the colorful guild houses, while Amir couldn't resist stopping at every single cheese shop we passed (typical!).

One of our favorite moments was sitting by the Limmat River, watching the world go by. There's something so peaceful about European river towns that just makes you want to pause and soak it all in. We grabbed some fresh bread and local cheese for an impromptu picnic right there on the waterfront.

What struck us most was how international Zurich feels. Walking through the streets, we heard at least six different languages and saw faces from all corners of the world. As an interracial couple, we always appreciate cities that celebrate diversity – it makes us feel right at home.

The highlight had to be climbing up to Grossmünster for those panoramic city views. The late afternoon light hitting the red rooftops was pure magic.

Sometimes the best travel days are the ones where you have no plan at all. What's your favorite way to explore a new city – structured itinerary or spontaneous wandering?
