Spain Day 11 | KMW Mallorca Escape | Indoor Pool & Stormy Town Lunch

Day eleven in Spain brought us some unexpected weather, but honestly, we couldn't have been happier about our decision to book that hotel with the gorgeous indoor pool. While storm clouds gathered over Mallorca, we found ourselves splashing around like kids, completely unbothered by the dramatic weather outside.

There's something so luxurious about swimming indoors while watching rain streak down the floor-to-ceiling windows. We spent the entire morning alternating between lazy laps and just floating on our backs, talking about how different this trip has been from our usual adventure-packed itineraries. Sometimes the best travel moments happen when you slow down and embrace the unexpected.

By lunch time, the storm had settled into a steady drizzle, so we ventured into town with our trusty umbrella. The narrow cobblestone streets looked even more charming wet, and we discovered this tiny family-run restaurant tucked away from the main tourist areas. The owner immediately started chatting with us in a mix of Spanish, English, and enthusiastic hand gestures – it reminded us so much of our families back in Toronto, where every meal comes with a side of storytelling.

We shared the most incredible seafood paella while watching locals dart between doorways, everyone laughing about the weather. There's something universal about how people bond over unexpected rain, regardless of language barriers.
