Switzerland Day 5 | KMW Swiss Escapade | Lucerne to Interlaken & Village Wander

We woke up in beautiful Lucerne with butterflies in our stomachs - today we were finally heading to the heart of the Swiss Alps! The train journey from Lucerne to Interlaken was absolutely magical. Sam kept pressing her face against the window like a kid, snapping photos of every mountain peak, while Amir tried (and failed) to look cool about the stunning scenery rushing past us.

Interlaken completely took our breath away. Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, with the Jungfrau massif towering in the background, it felt like stepping into a postcard. We couldn't help but laugh at how we went from Toronto's concrete jungle to this alpine paradise in just a few days.

The real highlight was our spontaneous village wander. We ditched our planned itinerary and just started walking, following cobblestone paths that led us through the most charming Swiss villages. The traditional chalets with their flower boxes, the sound of cowbells in the distance, elderly locals greeting us with warm "Grüezi!" - it was pure magic.

One moment that really stuck with us: An older Swiss gentleman struck up a conversation about our travels, asking about Canada and sharing stories about his own adventures. These genuine connections remind us why we love traveling so much - it's not just about the places, but the people who make each destination special.
