We've always been drawn to the idea of a Caribbean cruise, but honestly, we weren't sure what to expect for our first time aboard The Voyager. As an interracial couple from Toronto, we'd heard mixed things about cruise demographics, but we're so glad we took the plunge!

Our seven-day journey through San Juan, St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten exceeded every expectation. The diversity of passengers was refreshing – we met couples from all walks of life, and the crew's warmth made us feel instantly welcome.

Pre-Cruise Planning Tips

Book shore excursions early – seriously, the good ones fill up fast! We learned this the hard way when the catamaran tour in St. Thomas was already sold out by the time we boarded.

Pack strategically for both ship and shore activities. We brought reef-safe sunscreen (essential for protecting those gorgeous coral reefs), comfortable walking shoes for cobblestone streets in San Juan, and dressier outfits for the ship's formal nights.

What Surprised Us Most

The food variety was incredible – Amir found amazing Indian options at the buffet, while Samantha discovered fresh pho at the Asian station. We didn't expect such authentic flavors at sea!

Each port offered completely different vibes, from San Juan's rich history to St. Maarten's duty-free shopping paradise. We quickly realized one day per island barely scratches the surface.

Have you been on a Caribbean cruise before? We'd love to hear about your favorite ports or any tips we might have missed!
