We can't believe we're actually here! After months of planning and countless conversations about whether we were crazy to take our 8-month-old daughter on her first international trip, we're finally sitting on the pristine white sands of Eagle Beach in Aruba, watching little Maya splash her tiny toes in the crystal-clear Caribbean water.

The flight went surprisingly well – we were those parents armed with snacks, toys, and backup plans for every possible scenario. Maya charmed the flight attendants with her babbling mix of what we swear sounds like both Punjabi and Vietnamese (though it's probably just adorable baby gibberish). The three-hour journey from Toronto felt like nothing compared to our usual long-haul flights to visit family in India and Vietnam.

Eagle Beach is everything the photos promised and more. The sand is so soft and white, and the water is this incredible turquoise that doesn't look real. We've already claimed our spot under one of those iconic divi-divi trees, and Maya seems absolutely mesmerized by the gentle waves and the sound of the ocean.

Watching our daughter experience the beach for the first time – seeing her face light up at the feeling of sand between her fingers, hearing her delighted squeals as the waves tickle her feet – it's reminding us why we love traveling so much. There's something magical about seeing the world through fresh eyes.

What was your little one's reaction to their first beach experience? We'd love to hear your stories!
