We can't believe we're writing this from Schiphol Airport – our 12-day European adventure is officially coming to an end! As we wait for our connecting flight back to Toronto, we're feeling all the emotions and wanted to share some final thoughts about this incredible journey.

Amsterdam's airport turned out to be the perfect place to decompress and reflect. We grabbed some stroopwafels (obviously) and found a quiet corner to go through our photos. Wow. From the romantic canals of Venice to the vibrant markets of Istanbul, from Amir getting emotional at the Anne Frank House to Samantha finally trying authentic German pretzels – this trip has been everything we dreamed of and more.

Our Top EuroTrip Takeaways:

  • Pack lighter than you think – we definitely overpacked and ended up shipping a box home from Prague
  • Download offline maps – saved us countless times when our data wasn't working
  • Embrace the language barriers – some of our best memories came from trying to communicate with locals using gestures and Google Translate
  • Book train tickets in advance – learned this one the hard way in Switzerland!

Being an interracial couple traveling through Europe, we were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming everyone was. Sure, we got some curious looks in smaller towns, but mostly people were just excited to help us navigate their cities and share their favorite local spots.

As we board our flight home, we're already planning our next adventure. What's your dream European destination? Drop a comment below – we'd love to hear about your travel bucket lists!
